Holiday Policy

The following holidays are observed by the Atchison Public Library.  On these days, the Library is closed:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
  • President’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Juneteenth
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Friday after Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Eve Day
  • Christmas Day

If the holiday falls between Monday and Friday, the library will be closed on these days.  If the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the library will be closed that day.

The library will close at 5pm on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and on New Year’s Eve.
